Donate to the Arts

At the Department of Arts & Culture, we understand the value and vitality the arts bring to our community – and beyond. San Antonio's arts community depends on the hard work of many, including many nonprofit arts agencies.

With your help, we can assist San Antonio nonprofit arts agencies in continuing their mission to bring arts and culture to all. We will add your donation to our operational grant program. It will directly support a diverse portfolio of art organizations. They work across the City of San Antonio to create ongoing, sustainable, and high-quality artistic activities.

About the Medals

Each year, the City of San Antonio features a piece of public art in the Department of Arts & Culture's collection as its official Fiesta medal. This year's medal features Orgullo Tejano (Tejano Pride) by San Antonio artist Luis Lopez and pays tribute to Tejano music and culture. Orgullo Tejano can be found at two locations. The main artwork is at SW 37th St & Old Hwy 90 W. It was inspired by the music legacy of this historic area. The towering mosaic accordion player's instrument becomes an extension of his body. From his mouth flows the image of the iconic speech scroll, used in several Mesoamerican cultures, to identify sound. The second artwork at the River Walk Public Art Garden depicts a colorful outstretched accordion.
