National Poetry Month San Antonio (NPMSA)

Couple watching outdoor movie with crowd at sunset.

Launched by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month takes place each April. It is one of the largest literary celebrations in the world. The City of San Antonio joined National Poetry Month in 2009 to raise awareness about the importance of poetry. Many talented poets call San Antonio home; poetry is an integral part of our city’s culture. Annual celebrations include:

  • readings
  • workshops
  • performances
  • discussions
