The Communications & Engagement Department strategically communicates accurate information about City initiatives, policies and services to advance public trust in City government and to advocate on behalf of the City’s local, state and federal interests.

What We Do

Communications

The Communications team handles media, marketing and messaging for the City of San Antonio. They help create content strategies and communications plans for all City departments.

Creative Services

The Creative Services team oversees brand management and design for the City of San Antonio’s creative assets. They maintain the City's official logos, fonts, color, photos and templates.

  • Graphic design (print and digital)
  • Professional photography (event, headshots and archives)
  • Support and consultation on creative and branding efforts
  • Web Design (updates, content strategy, accessibility and usability)

Engagement

The Engagement team manages community outreach and education. They oversee the City’s engagement strategy and bridge connections with community groups.

TVSA

The TVSA team manages the City’s government and public access television channels and the TVSA studios at Plaza de Armas. They televise and stream city council and certain boards and commission public meetings. They produce original video programming to air on the TVSA Government and Public channels.

  • Non-commercial programming produced by members of the community
  • Video equipment maintenance and checkout

Open Government

The team completes requests for public information under the Texas Public Information Act. They work closely with the City Attorney's Office and all Department liaisons.
