The City of San Antonio is phasing out operations at the Migrant Resource Center (MRC)/Centro de Bienvenida. Effective Monday, February 3, 2025, the Center will not accept new arrivals.
Since January 2021, the City of San Antonio served people legally traveling through San Antonio to their host city destinations across the country.
The Migrant Resource Center/Centro de Bienvenida (MRC) opened in July 2022, in collaboration with Catholic Charities Diocese of San Antonio, as a temporary place for migrants traveling through San Antonio.
The MRC was set up to receive migrants who are being directly transported from non-profit partners in border cities after they were released from Immigrations and Customs Enforcement or Border Patrol custody. San Antonio is the nearest major transportation hub to these communities.
