Graffiti Volunteering

San Antonio needs the support of its residents, businesses, and community leaders to fight graffiti. Volunteer opportunities are available year-round through several formal programs.

Review our different events and opportunities below.

Mini-Wipeout Group Events

Groups of at least 10 volunteers can participate in organized clean-ups. The City provides paint, supplies, and designated locations for these 1-2 hour events. Certificates for community service hours are also available. For more information or to sign up, contact Lisa McKenzie or call 210-207-5430.

Individual Volunteer Program

Individuals can obtain a free supply kit that includes:

  • wipes for smooth surfaces
  • safety vest (available upon request)
  • goggles (available upon request)

Adopt-a-Dumpster

This program, in partnership with Waste Management, gives volunteers free green paint and supplies. These resources are for cleaning graffiti off Waste Management dumpsters. To participate, follow these steps:

  1. Complete a Graffiti Volunteer Application (PDF). Include the proposed site(s) and photos of the dumpster(s).
  2. Obtain a signed Right of Entry (ROE) Waiver from the property owner.
  3. Coordinate the pick-up/delivery of paint and supplies. Ensure all volunteers sign the Liability Release form (PDF).

Together, we can make a difference in our community!
