Senior Assistance Program

This initiative helps residents ages 65 and older and disabled individuals with confirmed violations in these categories:

  • overgrown vegetation (lawn or alley maintenance)
  • outside placement, trash, or debris
  • tree removal or trimming if it poses a hazard

Our goal is to help senior citizens and/or disabled address these violations before they become citations that accrue fees. Each household can access this program a maximum of two times per year.

How It Works

Step 1.Receive a Code Violation Notice

Receive notice for one of the violations listed above.

Step 2.Check your Eligibility

  • 65 years old and older or have a documented disability.
  • Demonstrate financial hardship and be on a fixed income.
  • Live in a single-family home.

Step 3.Complete the Application

Code Enforcement Officers can provide a copy of the form. You may also download a copy of the form.

Return the form to the Code Enforcement Officer. If you have any questions, contact them at the number listed on the notice. If you have lost the notice or unsure who your Code Enforcement Officer is, please contact your local field unit office.

Once you receive approval, an authorized City contractor will perform the required work at no cost to you.
