Dance

Embrace your love of dance by signing up for one of our dance classes. Classes are offered year-round to youth and adults, ages 4 and older. We offer a variety of classes for various skill levels.

NOTE: All classes are subject to change or cancellation depending on the number of participants enrolled. There are no classes on City holidays.

Class Rates

Program fees are non-refundable and no fees are prorated.

Ages 17 and younger: $30
- Any additional class during the same session: $15
- Discounted rate for the first class for siblings (living in the same household): $25
Ages 18 - 59: $60
Ages 60 and older: $30

Recitals

Some classes do not take part in annual recitals, so please check with your instructor to confirm.

New class curriculum for recitals begins in October. Recital participation is not mandatory.

Available Classes

All classes except introductory levels will need teacher approval.

After the first week of class, the instructor will group similar age and level students together. It is common for students to remain at an introductory level for several years while learning skills for advancement. Teacher assessment will advance students when necessary on a case-by-case basis.

Ballet

Ballet Ballet is a classical and universal dance. Whether you want to learn the basic positions or demonstrate beautiful lines on pointe shoes, the Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of classes for various skill levels.

Flamenco

Feel the drama and passion of the traditional dances from Spain. Flamenco dance comprises of both classical movement and artistic rhythmic footwork. The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of classes at various levels. All classes except introductory levels will need teacher approval.

Folklorico

From basic steps to flowing dresses, Folklorico dance is inspired by time honored traditions of Mexican heritage. The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of classes at various levels. All classes except introductory levels will need teacher approval.

Hip-Hop

If you like urban dance moves to the latest music, then Hip-Hop dance is for you. The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of classes at various levels. All classes except introductory levels will need teacher approval.

Jazz & Modern

Jazz up your step or move with modern expression. Jazz and Modern dance both offer artistic interpretation through motion to a variety of music genres. The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of classes at various levels. All classes except introductory levels will need teacher approval.

Tap

Click, click, click as you tap, tap, tap to the beat. From simple taps to brush stomps, tap is a rhythmic dance that puts a spark in your spirit. The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of classes at various levels. All classes except introductory levels will need teacher approval.

Specialized Dance

Specialized dance classes are offered from time to time that may include how-to choreography tips to master classes in a particular genre.

Dance Fitness

Dance provides a great workout. With no pressure to be on the beat, dance fitness classes offer a fitness opportunity guaranteed to break a sweat. Have fun, make new friends, and feel great about burning calories. Try one or more of the dance fitness classes today.

Line Dancing

Line dancing offers repetitive steps in sync with the music - so get in line! Make new friends and learn new songs. Get your hands in the air for a more intense dance or just keep your feet moving to have some fun. Various experience and dancing levels welcome.
