Fitness in the Park offers a wide variety of free exercise and fitness classes all over San Antonio. Join us at your local park, community center, or library and let us help you achieve your fitness goals.

Exercise & Fitness Classes

Aerobics & High Energy Cardio

Cardio-Kick.jpeg Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength routines. The goal is to improve all elements of fitness including flexibility, muscular strength, and cardiovascular fitness. Keep your heart rate up by visiting one of our heart pumping offerings today!

Boot Camps & Circuit Training

Circuit.jpeg Boot camps and circuit training classes include a variety of activities geared towards increasing endurance, power, strength, stamina and speed. Exercises will also focus on flexibility and agility, giving you a great total body workout. An exercise “circuit” refers to one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program.

Yoga & Tai-Chi

Yoga.jpeg Exercise your mind, body and soul. Yoga helps reduce anxiety, improve flexibility, relieve stress and improve respiratory functions. Try one of several types of yoga offered, including our family friendly yoga classes that are open to families with young children.

Mommy & Me Fitness

Need a good workout, but have a young child that needs constant attention? Get a work-out together! Mommy and Me Fitness programs are offered for parents and children (ages 3 months to 3 years old) to be active together. The programs offer a variety of exercises and stretches with interaction between parents and children.

SPEAR (Strength, Power, Endurance & Resistance)

Spear-Training.jpeg SPEAR training classes follow the CrossFit methodology and are constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. The exercises are core strength and conditioning based with workouts being task or time based. These movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, throwing, and more. This fitness discipline is diverse and productive. These exercises are designed for all fitness levels! Classes instructed by a CrossFit Level 1 (CF-L1) trainer.

Troops-For-Fitness.jpeg Troops for Fitness is a series of special fitness classes taught by skilled military veterans. The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer veteran led fitness classes. Walking & Running

Walking.jpeg Regular physical activity helps everybody feel better and improves overall health. Walking is an excellent form of physical activity. Through consistent walking, you will get and stay healthier, feel better about yourself, have reduced risks, stronger muscles and bones. Walking is also a great way to meet new friends!
