Career

Director Bridgett White

Bridgett White was appointed director of the Department of Planning in September 2016, following a four-month tenure as Interim Director. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing:

  • Implementation of the City’s long-range policy vision, SA Tomorrow
  • Regional Planning initiatives
  • Corridor Planning and Revitalization
  • Comprehensive Rezoning 

Ms. White joined the City of San Antonio in July 2015 as Assistant Director of the Planning Department. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Ms. White began her career as a transportation planner with the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG).

In May 2002, she transitioned to municipal government in Texas, joining the City of Arlington as a planner in the Department of Community Development. During her 13-year tenure with the City of Arlington, Ms. White was promoted multiple times and served in the Interim Director role.

Personal

Ms. White and her husband, Mark, have a son and a daughter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and reading.
