Director

Career

Bridgett White was appointed director of the Department of Planning and Community Development in September 2016 after serving as interim director for four months. As director, she is responsible for:

• overseeing the planning and implementation of the City’s long-range policy vision, SA Tomorrow
• Annexation Program
• Tax Increment Financing
• Grants Monitoring and Administration
• Housing

Ms. White joined the City of San Antonio in July 2015 as assistant director for the department. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Ms. White began her career as a transportation planner with the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG).

In May 2002, she moved to Texas to start her career off in municipal government with the City of Arlington. She worked in Arlington for 13 years where she started off as a planner in the Department of Community Development and Planning and was promoted over the years to the position of interim director.
