Public Information Office

The Public Information Office (PIO) manages the flow of information to the general public and to the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) family. The primary function of the PIO is to bridge information to the media. This includes communicating SAFD roles and responsibilities in the community.

For San Antonio Citizens & Community Groups

• Arranging on-site demos of fire engines, equipment, and department operations.
• Arranging for speaking engagements by SAFD personnel.
• Arranging tours of fire department stations and other facilities.
• Arranging SAFD participation in community activities.

For Members of the News Media

• Providing information about department activities and operations.
• Conducting media interviews for television, radio, and print.

For Other Fire Departments or Outside Agencies

• Providing general information related to SAFD operations, resources, and other department functions.
