Metro Health requires that each business that serves open, potentially hazardous foods and drinks have one Certified Food Manager on duty at all times during hours of operation. To meet this standard, please follow the steps listed below. Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) accredited training courses can be searched online at DSHS Accredited Food Handler Classroom Training Programs.
Take one of the Texas Department of State Health Services approved Food Manager Training Course or a course accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and pass the exam.
Receive your certificate from DSHS or an ANSI accredited course.
Post Food Manager Certificate in the food establishment in a location that is conspicuous to consumers.
