October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We can help our neighbors escape the cycle of domestic violence. Here are a few ways you can increase awareness and support domestic violence survivors:
Light or decorate your porch in purple to raise awareness about domestic violence and support healing for survivors. San Antonians can show their support by sharing photos on social media using hashtag #PurplePorchSA.
On October 1st, the City of San Antonio will begin enforcing a new ordinance that requires domestic violence resource signage to be posted in places of public accommodation.
Domestic violence affects our whole community. We invite you to visit your nearest substation to meet with crisis advocates and SAPD officers, who will provide resource information.
