SAN ANTONIO (October 5, 2023) –This is the third year the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) will be taking part in National Faith and Blue Weekend.

In 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice of Community Oriented Policing Services with support of Movement Forward INC. created National Faith and Blue Weekend to bring the faith community and law enforcement closer.

SAPD and City of San Antonio Faith-Based Initiative will host a multi-faith prayer ceremony followed by a Safety and Security Symposium. The Symposium is to enhance faith-based organizations’ preparedness, security, resilience and discuss challenges they may be facing. Metro Health will also be leading a panel discussion with local law enforcement, faith, and community leaders on violence and how it impacts the community.

The prayer ceremony and symposium are by invite only. For more information about other Faith and Blue events in the area, visit FaithandBlue.org.
