Semmes Branch Library to Close Temporarily for Planned Improvements

Updates are expected to be completed in January.

SAN ANTONIO (November 18, 2024) – San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) begins a scheduled maintenance project today at the Semmes Branch Library (15060 Judson Rd., 78247). The project requires a temporary closure of the Semmes Branch, but library staff will allow patrons to pick up and return materials via curbside service during construction. Work is expected to be completed in January 2025.

This project includes restroom improvements, interior and exterior painting, and ceiling improvements where needed. During the closure, work will also begin to restore the Semmes Branch Library patio. Restoration of the patio is expected to take several months and will continue into 2025 after the library reopens. These updates are being completed as part of a regular maintenance schedule for SAPL’s 29 facilities throughout San Antonio.

During construction, curbside pickup and return services will be offered in the Semmes Brach Library parking lot six days per week. Anyone with library materials ready to pick up at Semmes can pull up to the designated curbside pickup location and call 210-207-9110 to have the items brought to their vehicle.

• Monday: 4 - 8 p.m.
• Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Sunday: Closed

Wi-Fi will remain available in the Semmes parking lot during designated hours, and the Semmes book drops will remain open for customers to return materials as construction allows. Library patrons may also return materials via curbside service or at any SAPL location.
