Animal Care Services “Paw-Changa” event marks Fiesta’s return

SAN ANTONIO (April 9, 2024) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) invites residents to “show us your paws” at the upcoming Paw-Changa event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the SAACS shelter located at 4710 State Highway 151.The Adoption Fiestawill celebrate San Antonio’s annual party with an inclusive celebration featuring hundreds of adoption-ready pets and a parade of foster dogs. 

In addition, visitors to the SAACS Paw-Changa event can enjoy free admission to Fiesta-themed fun including:

• Paw’p Up market spotlighting several dozen local small businesses
• Live entertainment from Folklorico dancers
• Food trucks with Fiesta favorites for sale
• DIY Fiesta medal crafts and story time for kids with the San Antonio Public Library
• Colorful backdrops for that perfect selfie

The goal is to find placement for up to 100 pets at the event. Dogs and cats adopted from SAACS are sterilized, microchipped with lifetime registration, and vaccinated with their first round of shots. Families who adopt from SAACS can also take advantage of training sessions with the shelter’s certified canine trainer.
