SAN ANTONIO (April 30, 2024) – San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) began a repair project this week to replace the roof of the Bazan Branch Library (2200 W. Commerce St., 78207). The project, which began April 29, will require a temporary closure of the Bazan Branch. Work on the roof is expected to be completed early this summer.

The roof is being replaced due to damage sustained from a hailstorm in 2021. During the repairs, library services will be unavailable at the Bazan Branch Library. Parking lot Wi-Fi and Bazan’s book drop will also be shut down to allow roofing crews access to the parking lot to stage materials.

While the library is being improved, SAPL invites Bazan patrons to get to know a new library. With locations across the city, complete library services are never far away. Patrons of the Bazan Branch Library will be able to pick up their library holds at the nearby Collins Garden Branch Library (200 North Park Boulevard, 78204) during the closure.

In addition to Collins Garden, full library services are also available at these nearby locations:

  • Central Library (600 Soledad St., 78205)
  • San Pedro Branch Library (1315 San Pedro Ave., 78212)
  • Memorial Branch Library (3222 Culebra Rd., 78228)

For a full list of SAPL locations, visit the library website.

These updates to the Bazan Branch align with San Antonio Public Library’s commitment to the community to offer the highest quality of library service.
