City Hosts Parks and Recreation Summer Job Fair This Saturday

SAN ANTONIO (May 15, 2023) – With summer just over a month away, the City of San Antonio invites the community to learn about summer job opportunities at the Parks and Recreation Summer Job Fair this Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Job Fair will be held at the Ramon V. Quintero Community Center, Southside Lions Park, on 3100 Hiawatha.

The City is looking for people to join their team this summer in a variety of temporary positions with the Parks and Recreation Department. Roles include lifeguard, community services specialist, recreation specialist, recreation instructor, recreation assistant, and outdoor pool supervisor. Attendees can learn about summer jobs, chat with hiring managers, and interview on the spot. Those interested are encouraged to apply at SanAntonio.gov/Careers prior to coming to the job fair.

Pay ranges from $17.50 to $20.27 per hour depending on the position. Work locations for the lifeguard and outdoor pool supervisor positions can be at any one of the 25 City pools (including the San Antonio indoor natatorium). The other positions will be at various community centers and schools throughout San Antonio. Additionally, those applicants selected for lifeguard and outdoor pool supervisor positions are eligible to receive a $500 incentive (paid in three payments throughout the duration of the job) and a $75 swimsuit reimbursement. 
 
Additionally, those interested in Aquatics positions will need to register at the Ramon V. Quintero Community Center before completing their lifeguard skills pre-test at the Southside Lions pool. Applicants should bring a swimsuit, towel and two approved forms of ID.
