City Hosts Parks and Recreation Summer Job Fair this Saturday

SAN ANTONIO (April 4, 2024) – Summer is fast approaching, and the City of San Antonio is inviting the community to explore summer job opportunities at the Parks and Recreation Summer Job Fair. The event will take place this Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Roosevelt Park Clubhouse, located at 311 Roosevelt Ave, 78210.
The City is looking for people to join the Parks and Recreation Department team this summer in a variety of temporary positions. Roles include;
- lifeguard,
- swimming pool supervisor,
- recreation supervisor (summer area supervisor for outdoor pools),
- recreation assistant,
- recreation instructor, and
- recreation specialist.
Job fair attendees can learn about summer jobs, chat with hiring managers, get application assistance, and interview on the spot. Those interested are encouraged to apply at SanAntonio.gov/CareerCenter prior to coming to the job fair. Lifeguard positions are open to individuals 16 years of age or older, while you need to be 18 for all other positions.
Pay ranges from $18 to $22.20 per hour depending on the position. Work locations for the lifeguard and swimming pool supervisor positions can be at any one of the City’s 24 outdoor pools. The other positions will be at various community centers and schools throughout San Antonio. Additionally, applicants selected for lifeguard positions are eligible to receive a $500 incentive, while swimming pool supervisors are eligible to receive an $800 incentive. These hiring incentives are paid in three increments throughout the duration of the job. Both positions also come with a $75 swimsuit reimbursement.
Also, those interested in Aquatics positions are strongly encouraged to bring a swimsuit, towel, and two approved forms of ID to participate in the swim test required for the positions.
