City Launches Newly Designed Services-Oriented Website

SAN ANTONIO (February 21, 2023) — The City of San Antonio has launched its new website SA.gov that aims to continually improve access to public services and information for the residents of San Antonio. Throughout this year, the work continues as information will be moved from SanAntonio.gov to SA.gov.

This new, service-focused website makes accessibility a priority and also better allows those internally who manage digital services to the community. It was designed to fulfill web accessibility requirements under the American Disabilities Act, and enables individuals with vision, hearing, and physical disabilities to more easily access the site. 

“Our website is the first impression many people have of our City. It also is the portal that allows community members to connect with local government and is one of the City’s most important tools for delivering information and services to the community,” said City Manager Erik Walsh.

This new website is: 

• Mobile friendly
• Easy to navigate to find information and services  
• User oriented 

Improving City communications has been a stated goal of the City’s Communications & Engagement Department to create a cohesive and consistent experience as residents engage with City programs and services.

“Users can expect to see a modern design complemented by updated graphic buttons, easy navigation, and a new layout,” said Alanna Reed, Communications & Engagement director. “The new, easy-to-use, website is focused on information and services to meet community needs and is data-driven to make sure the user-experience is simple, timely, inclusive, and accessible. San Antonio is vibrant and thriving and it is important that our technology presence reflects that.
 
Along with introducing SA.gov, the City is inviting residents to share their feedback on SASpeakUp to better understand how they use the website. The feedback received will help the City continue to improve the website's usability on SA.gov.
