City of San Antonio Shares Arctic Blast Response Update

SAN ANTONIO (December 24, 2022) – High temperatures Saturday will rise above freezing over south-central Texas and then drop back to the middle to lower 20s through Sunday morning, December 25, 2022. A Hard Freeze Warning has been extended through Sunday morning for all the area. 

WARMING CENTERS

The City of San Antonio will open its two warming centers Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 8 p.m. They will remain open along with Bexar County’s warming centers through Sunday, December 25, 2022 at 9 a.m.

UNSHELTERED RESOURCES

The City and its non-profit partners including Corazon Ministries, Christian Assistance Ministry, Haven for Hope and Communities Under the Bridge continue to provide unsheltered individuals with warm weather clothing, blankets, transportation, a warm place to stay and meals. Haven for Hope has expanded intake hours and emergency bed capacity. Communities Under the Bridge will be open for meals and shelter through December 25, 2022.

311 CALLS

311 received 2,661 calls Friday, December 23, 2022. 161 calls were between 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. 311’s customer service team coordinated twelve calls for transportation with VIA on Friday and five, Saturday, December 24, 2022, to the warming centers.\

Public Works has reported no flashing traffic lights since Friday, December 23, 2022.
