D10 Councilmember Expresses Concern Over San Antonio International Airport Contract Negotiations

SAN ANTONIO (September 13, 2024) – Today, Councilmember Marc Whyte commented on the Airline Use and Lease Agreement approved unanimously yesterday by the City Council. 

“As mentioned yesterday during our City Council A Session, I am concerned that our largest carrier, Southwest Airlines, is not currently a signatory to the future lease agreement at San Antonio International Airport. San Antonio residents rely upon the air travel services Southwest Airlines provides. It is my hope that Southwest Airlines will continue to be a part of telling the San Antonio story well into the future, and am committed to working with other members of our city leadership and the airline to ensure this becomes a reality.”
