Viva Aerobus Expands Nonstop Options from San Antonio International Airport

SAN ANTONIO (August 9, 2024)  Starting in early November, Delta Air Lines will offer nonstop service to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) from San Antonio International Airport (SAT). Delta announced the news today, saying Boston is an important market for the San Antonio community.

“Delta’s timely decision to serve this route demonstrates the strong demand between San Antonio and Boston and that it warrants nonstop service on a legacy carrier,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “SAT’s momentum continues to grow. And we’re delighted that Delta continues to expand its presence here.”

Here’s what to know about the new flights:

  • Service begins on November 11, 2024
  • Frequency: Once daily, year-round
  • Departs BOS for SAT at 9:15 a.m.
  • Departs SAT for BOS at 2 p.m.

“This is fantastic news for San Antonians, especially our business travelers from our bioscience, technology and financial industries,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, City of San Antonio Aviation Department. “Delta’s performance at SAT has been significant. The airline has seen a staggering 20% increase in total departing seats compared to pre-pandemic and Boston is their seventh destination from San Antonio. We’re excited to see Delta continue to grow in San Antonio and look forward to continuing our strong partnership.”

The airline’s other destinations from SAT include Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York-JFK and Salt Lake City.

Delta Air Lines shared this statement:

“The addition of Boston-San Antonio to the Delta network will provide the only nonstop access for consumers between these two cities starting in November. Moreover, this service will increase Delta’s coverage of top 50 markets from our Boston hub and will help build upon Delta’s #1 position there.”

Tickets go on sale tomorrow on Delta’s website.
