Director of Airports Lands New Role in Aviation Industry’s Largest Professional Organization
San Antonio (January 10, 2023) – Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports for the San Antonio Airport System, has been named to the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Policy Review Committee. The AAAE is the world's largest professional organization for airport executives. He oversees the day-to-day operations at both San Antonio International Airport (SAT) and Stinson Municipal Airport (SSF), which is the second oldest, continuously operating general aviation airport in the United States. Combined, the airports account for an economic impact of more than $5.2 billion annually and support approximately 46,000 jobs in the region. Saenz is leading the way as SAT expands its facilities to meet the community’s needs for the future.
Saenz came to San Antonio three years ago after gaining extensive experience in leadership roles at several airports in Houston. His insight and passion make him an excellent fit for the committee position – helping to provide insight and input to the AAAE Executive Committee and Board of Directors. “When it comes to developing public policy, I’m confident that my 20+ years of serving my community can make a positive difference,” Saenz said. “My passion is endless when it comes to effecting change in this industry I love so much. I’m looking forward to supporting the committee’s goals, collaborating and accomplishing stellar results together in 2023.” The AAAE was founded in 1928 and represents thousands of airport management personnel at public-use commercial and general aviation airports. Saenz continues to serve the aviation industry in a multitude of ways. These are some of the roles he holds: AAAE Foundation’s Steering Committee
