District 3 Councilmember Celebrates the Passing of FY 2025 Budget

SAN ANTONIO (September 19, 2024) — District 3 Councilmember Viagran proudly announces the successful passage of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget, which amounts to an unprecedented $3.96 billion. This significant financial commitment reflects the dedication to fostering sustainable growth, enhancing community resources, and prioritizing equitable opportunities for all San Antonians.

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my colleagues on City Council, our dedicated City staff, and the countless community District 3 residents and neighborhood associations who advocated for their needs throughout this budget process,” The District 3 Councilmember said. “Your voices were heard, and this balanced budget reflects our collective vision for a thriving San Antonio. Together, the work towards building an inclusive San Antonio continues.”

Key highlights of the FY 2025 Capital and Operating budget include:

  • No change in the City Property Tax Rate
  • Investments in Public Safety with additional 65 New Officers
  • Enhanced Animal Care Services
  • Support for the Homelessness Initiatives 
  • Infrastructure maintenance 

Adopted budget highlights for District 3 include a total of $50.8 Million:

  • $2.9 Million in Street Improvements 
  • $15.5 Million In Infrastructure Management Program
  • $12 Million Father Roman Community Center
  • $3.9 Million Park Improvements  
  • $1,111 Million Roosevelt Avenue (VFW Boulevard to Harding Boulevard)
