SAN ANTONIO (October 14, 2024) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) invites residents to fall in love with a new companion at the Alamo City’s largest pet adoption fair. Slated for Saturday, October 26, the Dogtober Fall Festival will feature hundreds of adoption-ready pets from SAACS, San Antonio Pets Alive, Animal Defense League and the Footbridge Foundation. Dogtober runs from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 4710 State Highway 151.

In addition to free admission and shuttle parking, visitors can enjoy:

  • Event adoption specials
  • VIP “Early Access” passes offering priority event entry and an exclusive Puppies N’ Pilates class with InBalance Studios
  • Live music and entertainment including Texas TikTok sensation Haley Anna
  • An extensive Fall Paw’p Up market spotlighting 40+ local small businesses
  • Food trucks with treats and eats
  • A pumpkin patch and fall-themed backdrops for that perfect selfie
  • Pet costume contest and parade with local celebrity judges and prize giveaways

Unique to the Dogtober Fall Festival, attendees can also participate in the new “Passport for Paws” experience, spending the day visiting event activities with a shelter dog. With a goal to find homes for at least 200 pets, dogs and cats adopted at Dogtober will be sterilized, microchipped with lifetime registration, and vaccinated with their first round of shots. Residents can sign up for early adoption access and more at the event page located at saacs.info/dogtober.
