Gear up for the Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive stomping your way on Saturday, February 3!


SAN ANTONIO (February 1, 2024) – The City of San Antonio invites the community to visit Travis Park, Historic Market Square, and La Villita Historic Arts Village this month for a wide variety of events.

Downtown Events

San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Stampede 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, Feb. 3, 9:30 a.m., registration required
Milam Park, 201 W. Commerce St.
The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Stampede 5K Run/Walk takes place on the streets of historic downtown San Antonio, starting and ending at Milam Park. After participating in the Stampede 5K, stick around to watch the Western Heritage Cattle Drive & Parade and enjoy great entertainment at the Vaquero Cook-Off at Historic Market Square! Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive

Saturday, Feb. 3, 10:50 a.m., FREE
Step back in time to celebrate our historic Texas roots and kick-off the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo! The parade route runs through historic Houston Street and features a cattle drive of Texas longhorns, mounted infantry groups, authentic wagons, and heritage organizations that come together to participate in a display of the western heritage and local culture of San Antonio and Texas. Western Heritage Vaquero Cook-Off

Friday, Feb. 2 – Sunday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., FREE
Head to Market Square to enjoy some of the traditional staples of the vaqueros from the 1800s. Enjoy culinary offerings such as chili, menudo, and arroz con pollo as cook-off teams compete for the honor of grand champion. For more information, visit the Market Square website.

San Antonio 11th Annual Coffee Festival

Saturday, Feb. 10, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (8 a.m. VIP early entrance), ticketed event
Now in its 11th year, the San Antonio Coffee Festival is the city’s original celebration of coffee open to all coffee-lovers – offering the perfect grounds to share time together! Mardi Gras Festival & Mardi Gras River Parade

Festival: Saturday, Feb. 10; 1-6 p.m., Arneson River Theatre, FREE
Parade: Saturday, Feb. 10, 2 p.m.: Museum Reach, Downtown: 5 p.m., FREE
Watch as the River Walk transforms into a floating Mardi Gras celebration! Live entertainment will be on stage at the Arneson River Theatre. Join us along the San Antonio River Walk to view a procession of 10-themed floats carrying costumed performers parade down the River. Celebrate Mardi Gras – San Antonio style! Fitness in the Plaza

Galentine’s Day Celebration

Sunday, Feb. 11, 12-4 p.m., FREE Join us at La Villita Historic Arts Village for our Galentine's Celebration! Bring your bestie for a free event at Capistrano Soap Company and enjoy DIY spa facials, artful love letters, champagne and nibbles, and a spa day gift drawing. Tuesday, February 27, 6-8 p.m., FREE Looking for a fun, free date night? Join us for La Villita’s Dancing in the Dark series with line dancing lessons taught by professional dance instructor! Come a little early with your partner, friends, or by yourself to grab dinner in the Village, or you can purchase light bites and beverages from Prost Haus. Lunch Break on Houston Street (In front of the Majestic Theatre, 224 E. Houston Street)

Thursday, Feb. 1 & 15, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Downtown can get busy on the weekends – plan ahead! There are numerous street closures in the downtown area as well as the potential for heavy traffic with several large events taking place throughout the month. Take public transportation, ride-share, bike, walk, or consult Google Maps or Waze before you leave. Visitor Parking

Check out the City's SAPark website for easy, convenient, and affordable parking! View a full list of City-owned garages, lots and meters. Downtown Tuesday offers free parking on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. in City-owned parking facilities, and City Tower Sundays offers free parking on Sundays from 7 a.m. to midnight at the City Tower Garage located at 117 W. Commerce.
