Planning Department to host far east area open house at the District 2 Senior Center

SAN ANTONIO (June 21, 2022) — The City of San Antonio Planning Department is hosting an open-house style public meeting at the District 2 Senior Center (1751 South WW White Road) for the Far East Community Area Plan. The open house will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and attendees may come and go during this time.

The Far East Community Area Plan, launched earlier this year, is being developed to implement the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, adopted by City Council in 2016. Throughout this community-based planning process, the City will organize numerous engagement activities and participate in community events for residents to share their vision for the Far East area. The plan will develop recommendations and strategies for the area that will be used by City Departments, partner agencies, private entities, and community partners to further enhance the Far East area.

During the open house, attendees will be asked to share their feedback for the Far East area, community vision, and receive general information about the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, and overall sub-area planning process.

“We invite all Far East area community members, business owners, and interested stakeholders to participate in the open house and share their vision for the community. We are looking forward to engaging conversations, and continued collaboration with the Far East community and area partners throughout this process.” said Bridgett White, AICP, Director of the Planning Department.

Opportunities are available to provide comment before, during, or after the open house through the plan website, social media, surveys, email, and future meeting opportunities.
