Free Dog Adoptions This Weekend at Animal Care Services

City shelter offers dog and cat foster orientation course.


SAN ANTONIO (September 26, 2024) – As National Dog Week wraps up this last week of September, San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is celebrating the joy our canine companions bring us with a “Big Mutts, Big Hearts” adoption special. The shelter will offer free adoptions on all dogs weighing forty pounds or more this Friday, September 27, through Saturday, September 28.

Pets adopted from the SAACS shelter are always sterilized, microchipped with free registration, and vaccinated with their first round of shots. Dog adopters can also take advantage of learning opportunities with SAACS trainers for the lifetime of their new adopted pet.

Big Mutts, Big Hearts adoption special at San Antonio Animal Care Services: 

  • Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 
  • Free adoptions on all dogs 40 pounds and up
  • SAACS is located at 4710 State Hwy 151. Shelter hours 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.*
    Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.* weekends *Last adoptions of the day occur half hour before closing to allow for processing.
