Fall Arrives in San Antonio – Full Line Up of Cultural Events & Festivals
SAN ANTONIO (September 20, 2024) – As San Antonians welcome slightly cooler temperatures this fall season, a diverse lineup of cultural and arts festivals are set to take place throughout the city.
“Whether you're into vibrant performances or captivating visual arts, San Antonio has a fall festival for every arts and culture enthusiast,” said Department of Arts & Culture Executive Director Krystal Jones. “These events offer a glimpse into the rich artistic and cultural talent flourishing in our city, all set against the backdrop of the pleasant autumn weather.”

Festival of Chariots (Ratha Yatra)
September 21, Woodlawn Lake Park
Immerse yourself in a day of enchantment through Indian music meditation, cuisine, dance, live art, a grand chariot parade procession and much more.
Jazz'SAlive Music Festival
September 27 – 28, Civic Park in Hemisfair
The 41st annual Jazz’SAlive brings traditional and Latin jazz to center stage in the Heart of Downtown San Antonio.
Manhattan Short Film Festival
September 27 – October 5, URBAN-15 Studios
In its 27th year, the URBAN-15 Group once again is one of 500 venues across the globe to host this festival.
Rey Feo Super Hero River Parade and Festival
September 28, Arneson River Theatre
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the River Walk transforms into a vibrant, action-packed spectacle.
Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour

San Antonio Black International Film Festival

This festival showcases quality films, advocates for, and supports filmmakers of African descent.
Aki Matsuri JASSA Fall Festival
October 5, Mateo Camargo Park
This fall festival celebrates Japanese culture and traditions with performances, crafts and cuisine.
Old World and New Performance
October 6, Medina Valley Fine Arts Center
Featuring music and dance performances from Spain, Cuba and Mexico by Alamo City Performing Arts Association, Heart of Texas Concert Band and Alamo City Dance Company.
Raza Cósmica Film Festival
October 10 - 12, various locations
This is an annual showcase of science fiction and speculative films by Latinx and BIPOC filmmakers.
Diez y Seis Mariachi Festival
October 12, Arneson River Theatre
The Mariachi Festival features performances by middle and high school students from schools in San Antonio and the region.
Hispanic Trails Cultural Festival
October 13, Wonderland of the Americas
Enjoy captivating music, mesmerizing folk dances and the unique cuisines of Latin cultures.
Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival

Enjoy an immersive nighttime display of lights and art. This year the festival is tying in with UTSA’s Homecoming football game combining art with sports.

Mehregan Persian Autumn Festival

Dia de los Muertos Celebrations

San Antonio, home to the grandest Día de Muertos celebrations in the entire United States including Rinconcito de Esperanza at the Esperanza Peace & Justice Center, the Annual Altares y Ofrendas at Centro Cultural Aztlan, San Anto Cultural Arts Procession, Muertos Fest at Hemisfair and the Day of the Dead River Parade.
A Night at The Key Hole Club
