Guerra Branch Library set to reopen on December 4

Services will resume following building improvements.

SAN ANTONIO (December 1, 2023) – San Antonio Public Library’s (SAPL) Guerra Branch will reopen on December 4 upon the completion of an improvement project which includes new heating and air conditioning systems and a repaved, restriped parking lot.

Guerra Branch is located at 7978 Military Dr. W., 78227. The reopening signals a return to regular service for the branch. Beginning December 4, Guerra will again be open Mondays & Tuesdays from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Guerra Branch Library opened in July 2004 with funding from the 1999 Bond Election. The branch is named after long-time San Antonio historian, author and broadcast journalist Henry Guerra, who died in 2001.

The last day for Guerra Branch Library interim service at the Gill Community Center will be December 1. Holds will return to Guerra Branch beginning Monday, December 4.
