SAN ANTONIO (August 9, 2024) — This Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. to noon, District 5 will host a Back-to-School Fair at the Westside Family YMCA (2900 Ruiz St., 78228) to support students heading into the 2024-2025 school year.
“The new school year is fast approaching, and our District 5 team is eager to support our families with school necessities,” Councilmember Teri Castillo said. “Let’s come together to ensure that our youth feel supported and ready to tackle a new academic year full of learning and development.”
District 5 students, parents, and caregivers are welcome to attend and receive backpacks, school supplies, and resources from many City and community organizations. Featuring backpacks, vaccinations and haircuts, the fair will provide plenty of resources before the first school bell rings.
*To better assist District 5 families, attendees are asked to bring proof of residence in District 5. School supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last.
