Public input sought on naming of Community Center in Heritage Park

SAN ANTONIO (April 11, 2024) – The City of San Antonio’s Department of Human Services is accepting public input on the proposed naming of the new Community & Senior Center in Heritage Park. A public hearing to discuss the proposed naming will be held at 7 p.m. on May 21, 2024, at Cody Elementary School, 10403 Dugas Drive, 78245.

The Heritage Park Community Center, proposed address 1423 S. Ellison Drive, is under construction in San Antonio City Council District 4. The proposal is to name the facility “Barbara ‘Robbie’ Robinette Community & Senior Center.” Robinette was a former City Services Coordinator and President of the Heritage Neighborhood Association, as well as a longtime resident of District 4.

District 4 Councilmember Adriana Rocha Garcia proposed the name.

This meeting is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for public comment. A written response in favor of or against the proposed center naming may be submitted until 4 p.m. Monday, May 20, to:
