Women in Policing Event Featuring Simulated Driving Pursuit

San Antonio (March 23, 2023) – The San Antonio Police Department Recruiting detail is excited to host the 1st 2023 Women in Policing Event featuring a simulated driving pursuit, arrest one-on-one tactics, and SAPD obstacle course training. This free event is designed to empower women by teaching skills learned at the academy that are used to safely detain a suspect and experience the SAPD Driving Course! Participants will get to experience the effects of a vehicle pursuit from the passenger seat and arrest of a suspect.
The Women in Law Enforcement event was created to break any barriers that may be preventing women from joining the SAPD. Participants will gain the confidence through practical application of detention/arrest techniques, SAPD driving course experience, and conquering the Obstacle Course!
Females 18 and up must sign up to be part of the free event that will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the SAPD Training Academy, located at 12200 SE Loop 410.

Who: Featuring Officer Tammy Ayala, Lead Physical Fitness Instructor, Academy Driving Instructors, and SAPD female officers of many ranks
When: Saturday, March 25, 2023, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. (participants must sign up for event beforehand)
