Updates Coming to Guerra Branch Library

Renovations will begin August 21

SAN ANTONIO (August 18, 2023) – San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) will begin updates to Guerra Branch Library as part of a continual effort to improve libraries across the city. Renovations will begin on August 21.

Updates include the replacement of the library’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system and repaving and restriping the parking lot.

Interim Library services will be available during the closure beginning Monday, August 21 at the nearby Gill Community Center (7902 Westshire Dr., 78227). Services available at the Gill Community Center will include holds pickup and returns, an external book drop for after-hours returns, account and reference services, and laptops for use on-site.

Library hours at the Gill Community Center:

• Monday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday – Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Saturday & Sunday: CLOSED

Guerra Branch staff are available to answer questions and provide reference assistance by phone at (210) 207-9070 during interim site business hours.

While the library is being improved, SAPL invites Guerra patrons to get to know a new library location. With locations across the city, complete library services are never far away.
