Volaris Adds Two New Nonstop Destinations from San Antonio Airport

SAN ANTONIO (February 14, 2025)  Nonstop options to Mexico continue to grow at San Antonio International Airport (SAT) with the addition of two new destinations. Mexican low-cost carrier, Volaris, will launch new nonstop service to both Morelia (MLM) and San Luis Potosi (SLP) starting on July 5, 2025.

“Expansion throughout Mexico continues to be a priority for us at SAT,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airport, City of San Antonio Aviation Department. “We appreciate our partners at Volaris for continuing to invest in San Antonio, these new flights will not only make it easier to visit family and friends but also to grow business ties and continue to bring tourists to our beautiful region.”

Here's what to know about the new flights:

Morelia (MLM):

  • Service begins on July 5, 2025
  • Frequency: Three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays
  • Departs SAT at 6:49 p.m.; arrives at 7:39 p.m.
  • Departs MLM at 9 a.m.; arrives at 11:52 a.m.

San Luis Potosi (SLP):

  • Service begins on July 5, 2025
  • Frequency: Three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays
  • Departs SAT at 1:14 p.m.; arrives at 1:43 p.m.
  • Departs SLP at 2:48 p.m.; arrives at 5:16 p.m.

"The launch of these two international routes, connecting San Antonio with the Mexican cities of Morelia, Michoacán, and San Luis Potosi, starting on July 5th, marks a significant milestone in our international expansion strategy. We are committed to offering our customers in both countries the most extensive and affordable air connectivity, making it easier for them to stay close to their loved ones, for vacation, or explore new business opportunities. We continue working to provide the best travel experience between the United States and Mexico," said Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of Volaris.

“Pre-pandemic, SAT offered nonstop service to just four destinations in Mexico,” said Jacob Tyler, Air Service Administrator, City of San Antonio Aviation Department. “With today’s announcement, the airport now offers service to nine cities across five airline partners.”

Volaris currently offers nonstop service from SAT to three other destinations: Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey.
