SAN ANTONIO (January 11, 2024) – The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission Chair Dwayne Robison has issued the following statement:

To all San Antonio and Bexar County residents, as well as our special guests from around the country, we are excited to announce the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March, will be held on Monday, January 15th, 2024 – King's actual birthday. Although the weather forecast predicts one of the coldest days in our city, we are determined to press on, just as King and other heroes and sheroes did. However, we request everyone to take care and follow these guidelines:

  • Dress in layers to stay warm.
  • Wrap up well when going outside in the cold.
  • Avoid breezes and drafts indoors.
  • Eat nutritious food and wear warm clothes to ward off winter chill.
  • Wear a warm hat in the winter.
  • Eat hot foods and drink warm drinks several times during the day.

We urge everyone to take care, be smart, and stay warm. See you Monday morning at 9 a.m. for the lineup and start at 10 a.m. The march starting point is Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, 3501 Martin Luther King Dr., 78203.
