What makes a smart city? Residents invited to roadmap San Antonio’s Smart City future

SAN ANTONIO (October 10, 2022) - The City of San Antonio Office of Innovation invites residents and community stakeholders about what their priorities are for creating a smart city. Feedback shared will be used by the Office of Innovation to inform how the city uses data, technology, and innovation over the next several years.

In collaboration with local community engagement firm Able.City, there will be three public meetings and three informational pop-ups, along with the Smart Cities Priority Development survey on SASpeakUP, to help garner resident feedback.

“We are excited to partner with Able.City on creating a community engagement series for residents and community stakeholders to join the conversation on how we can improve public services through the exploration of innovative solutions,” said Brian Dillard, Chief Innovation Officer.

The main goal of a smart city is to optimize new and emerging technologies and data to improve the quality of life for its residents.

The information received from the engagement efforts will help the Office of Innovation develop a Smart City Roadmap that focuses on technology solutions based on the community’s priorities to improve day-to-day life in San Antonio. All community members are invited to attend the upcoming meetings to voice their priorities, concerns, ideas and questions to better understand the smart city roadmap.
